About Us
The AID-TAMU chapter was formed in March 2002. The activities of this chapter can be broadly classified into 3 categories, viz., evaluation of projects, awareness generation, and fund-raising activities.
We invite or obtain project proposals from India, review them in detail at our weekly meetings, communicate with the organization implementing the project in India, visit the project site, check the credibility of the organization and then provide them financial and non-monetary assistance. Our association with the organization continues even after the project has been approved for funding. Through regular visits we check the progress of the project as well as learn from observing the situation on the ground.
